Churmy is the founder and owner of Flying Potatoes, and is a research scientist with a PhD in Neurosciences specializing in animal behaviour.
Like many others, Churmy first enrolled in puppy classes with her first dog Bui Bui because he was so naughty! He wouldn’t listen, particularly when outdoors because everything was more exciting than her! She ventured into agility as a fun way to engage with her puppy and build a stronger relationship. From there, her passion for dog training grew. She became more involved in dog sports and began sharing her love for fun and positive training by teaching others.
Churmy has over 10 years of dog training experience and actively competes in a variety of dog sports. Together with her two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers Bui Bui and Penny, they have so far earned over 40 performance titles in dog sports including agility, rally obedience, sprinters, and tricks! Her goal is to share my love for dog sports and training through fun, positive, and inclusive programs with the focus on building happier, healthier, and more confident dogs and people.
Sierra
While Sierra grew up with dogs, her love of training and behavior stem from helping her own dog Rusty work through his reactivity. She fosters dogs for Wag A Muffins and helps train and teach them to become the best dog they can be. Sierra is working on finishing her Dogma Dog Training certificate.
Sierra
While Sierra grew up with dogs, her love of training and behavior stem from helping her own dog Rusty work through his reactivity.
She has 3 dogs in her life right now. Rusty, the love of her life who started her adventures in dog training, behavior work, agility and tricks. He is a 4 year old lab cross who is a ball of energy and recovering bad manners boy. Sirius who is a 3.5 year old Sheppard/Malamute cross who loves to chase all things that move. Cinder the old girl at 6 who is a Sheppard/Kelpie cross.
She fosters dogs for Wag A Muffins and helps train and teach them to become the best dog they can be. Sierra particularly enjoys working with dogs who are stubborn and “misunderstood”. She loves to see frustration transform into eager learning when the animal feels understood. She also looks forward to any opportunity to teach fun tricks, and has an interest in learning more about agility, other dog sports, and canine fitness. Sierra is working on finishing her Dogma Dog Training certificate.

She has always had a passion for animals, with a special soft spot for dogs. She knew she wanted to be able to take Lyla as many places as possible and teach her in the best way that she could which is how she found Positive Reinforcement. Seven years later, they now share an undeniable bond that can’t really be put into words.
In 2020, Sophie and Lyla joined the Flying Potato team! Working together as an agility team is incredible. A team sport like agility has really enhanced their bond in so many other areas of our lives as well! She is thrilled to be able to help others strengthen their bond with their dogs with the sport of agility.
